The eighteen year-old Zelinsky was convinced that guitar design and manufacturing had hit a wall. Rock music was huge and guitar makers were failing to keep up with the times. The world was ready for a guitar that looked, played, and sounded superior to what was available from manufactures at that time. Zelinsky had a better idea. What followed was a line of electric guitars that for the first time allowed players to play to their potential. With it's highly visible V-shaped head stock and trademark wing logo, Dean became in effect, the first boutique guitar line in the history of rock music.
